Mornington is one of my favourite place in Melbourne. It's only one hour away from CBD but it's pretty chill and peaceful, offering a much needed break from city life. Most people know Mornington from its Peninsula Hot Spring. It's an awesome place and it's also where I get my first natural hot spring experience. However, it can get very crowded these days and also quite expensive.
In spring and summer, Mornington's beaches are simply heavens on earth. I love to have picnics at the beaches while soaking up in the sun, making up my lack of vitamin D during winter. You really really need to visit Sorrento Back Beach in summer. There are so many heavenly hidden spots here, but sadly I couldn't take the photos for that because you kinda have to swim over to found those gems. But just by looking at this photos, you get the idea, don't you?
If you are into cute animals like me, you can even stop by in Moonlit Sanctuary before going to beach/picnic/brunch in Mornington. I never get lucky enough to meet wildlife on my roadtrips so I make my way to meet them <3 <3. Feeding the cute kangaroos make my day!
Don't forget the wineries! Montalto Winery is my personal favourite. Their foods are so damn delicious and it's paired with their perfect wines.
Lastly, end your day with a walk in Cape Schanck! You won't regret driving all the way there because the view is sooo soothing. I'm feeling romantic heree.
Hope that inspires your next trip to Mornington. Comment below if you have more places recommendation, food to eat, or anything! Have a lovely week!
